Thomas Neal Tillery, CFP®, CLU®, ChFC®, LUTCF, CRPC SM

Tom is vice president and co-founder of Paraklete® Financial, Inc., where he serves as Chief Compliance Officer and Chief Financial Planning Strategist. For years, he has designed and implemented integrated financial planning strategies for clients and financial advisors. Today, the company’s focus is one of financial advocacy instead of managing assets or selling products. Tom has more than 25 years of experience in financial planning, insurance, investments, philanthropy and tax planning. Over the years, he has provided these services to businesses, individuals, and families with substantial wealth.

He has a Masters of Science in Financial Services from The American College and also holds a Masters of Arts in Christian Education from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM practitioner, Chartered Life Underwriter ®, Chartered Financial Consultant ®, Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow, and CHARTERED RETIREMENT PLANNING COUNSELORSM.

He is a member of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), and the Atlanta Estate Planning Council. He also has been a provider of Continuing Legal Education for attorneys and Continuing Professional Education for accountants, financial advisors, and insurance professionals.

He was an instructor at the Terry College of Business, University of Georgia Executive Programs and has been a national instructor for CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM exam reviews. He is also an Arbitrator for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. Susan is president and co-founder of Paraklete® Financial, Inc. She has over 28 years of experience in tax, philanthropy, and financial planning, as well as in the administrative and compliance areas encountered by affluent individuals and families. While her firm designs and implements, financial planning strategies for individuals, the main focus of Paraklete Financial is on independence and objectivity in order to be the client’s financial advocate. Because of this, the firm does not manage assets or sell products.

Susan’s experience is in a multi-family office where she provided a broad array of financial services to affluent families. This along with her work at Arthur Andersen, Ronald Blue & Co., and other financial firms provides a strong framework for Paraklete Financial. Prior to joining Paraklete, she was a principal of Harris myCFO, Inc. and was responsible for the development and delivery of comprehensive family office solutions for the firm’s individual and family clients.

She earned a bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Accounting, with a specialty in Tax, from the University of Georgia. She holds the professional designations of Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Personal Financial Specialist (PFS), and Certified Financial Planner (CFP®).

She is a member of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) and the Georgia Society of CPAs (GSCPA). In addition, she is a member of the AICPA Personal Financial Planning Executive Committee and the GSCPA Estate and Financial Planning Committee. She has served as past vice chair for the Board of Directors for Partnership against Domestic Violence (PADV) as well as for Royal Treasure (an organization that energizes, motivates, and educates women to be excellent biblical stewards). Susan now volunteers and supports both of these organizations. She was recently selected to Leadership Cobb, which is a leadership program connected with the Cobb County Chamber of Commerce.

She is a much sought after speaker on topics that include: Financial Planning, CPA’s and Financial Planning, Financial Issues Facing Women, Responsibilities of Wealth, Charitable Giving, and Stewardship. She and her husband Tom reside in Kennesaw, Georgia.



The PFS Credential, established in 1987 by the AICPA, is granted to qualified CPAs with considerable professional experience in financial planning.
